Jeff Rodgers: From 353 Pounds to Strong, Confident, and Consistent

Jeff Rodgers

When Jeff and I first connected, he’d already lost some weight, but he still didn’t look or feel the way he expected.

Gyms felt intimidating.

The scale played mind games.

And the old “all-or-nothing” approach kept creeping back in during travel, busy seasons, and social events.

He was looking for better results, and decided to go “all in” on developing the best program and routine to support his health and goals.

Over the last four years together, Jeff has built a sustainable routine that fits his life.

He has learned how to train with purpose, fuel flexibly, and stay consistent without giving up the things he enjoys.

The result? Confidence, strength, and remarkable progress that keeps compounding.

Jeff’s Starting Point

When Jeff and I started working together, we created a plan Jeff could follow anywhere. We shifted to structured strength training (with movements and progressions that made sense for him), plus simple, repeatable meals he enjoys.

Consistency, not perfection, became the goal.

Nutritionally, we also focused on flexible nutrition that works in real life.

Calorie cycling gave Jeff freedom on weekends, trips, and special events. He stopped judging single days and started tracking weekly averages instead.

That reframed weight fluctuations as normal, and not failure.

And we also worked heavily on mindset.

Jeff replaced all-or-nothing thinking with a “win the day” approach. If travel or life threw a curveball, he got right back to his routine at the next opportunity. No guilt spiral, no starting over.

With a clear plan, consistent support and feedback, and a progressive strength training approach, the gym stopped feeling like a stage and started feeling like a tool. Small PRs turned into momentum.

Jeff’s transformation from 2022 to 2025.

What Changed

Through coaching, Jeff learned that progress doesn’t have to come from extremes.

We built a strength training plan that fit his schedule, allowed for flexibility, and gave him clear direction every time he stepped into the gym. He went from guessing which exercises to do to knowing exactly what his next step was.

On the nutrition side, he learned how to calorie cycle. Intentionally eating a little less at time during the week allowed Jeff to make room for social events or higher-calorie weekends. That shift helped him move away from the old “I ruined my diet” mindset and toward long-term consistency.

When the scale went up after a vacation or celebration, he understood it was normal. It was simply a reflection of water and food volume, not failure.

Even more important was the mindset shift. Jeff stopped chasing motivation and started focusing on habits.

He built a system that works whether he feels inspired or not. If life gets busy, he doesn’t start over — he just picks up where he left off.

Results That Stick

Since we started working together, Jeff has made incredible progress.

His body weight dropped from around 248 pounds to a new all-time low of 219, and his waist measurement shrank from 44 inches to 35 — nearly a foot of fat loss through his midsection.

But beyond the numbers, what really stands out is how much his confidence and energy have changed.

He no longer views the gym as intimidating. It’s now part of his identity.

Strength training has become something he looks forward to, and it shows in his energy throughout the day.

Clothes fit better, daily tasks feel easier, and he’s learned to channel his competitive nature by challenging himself to improve a little each week.

Jeff’s Playbook (Steal These)

Jeff’s success hasn’t come from perfection. It’s come from building routines that work in real life.

He found a training schedule that fits his workday, often lifting during his lunch break at a gym just minutes from home.

He preps simple, high-protein meals on Sundays and rotates a few go-to dinners during the week. The consistency of those small habits is what makes everything else click.

He also reframed how he thinks about competition. Instead of comparing himself to others, Jeff competes against his past self — adding a few extra pounds to a lift, squeezing out one more rep, or simply showing up on days he doesn’t feel like it.

As he says, “It’s those workouts you don’t want to do that make you feel the most proud afterward.”

These are the lessons that turn short-term results into lifelong change. Jeff’s story is proof that when you stop chasing quick fixes and start focusing on systems, real transformation happens — and it lasts.
