The 2020 #MarchFitness Challenge!

Hello, friends! It’s time to release the initial details of the 2020 #MarchFitness Challenge.

As a huge sports fan, I’m always looking for ways to mesh sports with fitness and nutrition, and through a lot of thought and constant badgering of my friends and family, I think I’ve got an idea that will be a lot of fun this March!

What we’re going to do with this challenge is let the results of the 2020 March Madness NCAA Tournament organically create a workout program for us. Together, we’ll work to fill out a bracket of exercises before the tournament tips off. Then, as the results come in, our workouts will build themselves!

After that, the real challenge starts. It’s time to work out!

Here’s a blow-by-blow rundown of how things will work:

  • Once the field of 68 is announced, we’ll collaborate on assigning exercises to each team. I’ve got a master list put together, but we’ll find some fun ways to assign exercises to specific teams.
  • Each region will be assigned a workout type:
    • For instance, the East Regional might be “push” exercises, the West might be “lower body” exercises, and so on.
  • As teams win, their respective exercises will be added to the workout program.
  • When the opening weekend of March Madness is complete, we’ll have a four-day workout program ready to go for #MarchFitness!

There’s no fee to participate. All you need is enthusiasm and to be prepared for a fun new way to root during the tournament!

If you have any other creative ideas to add to the mix, or if you can think of a specific exercise that would go well with a certain team (for instance, I’ve already been told Duke needs to be leg extensions), shoot them my way! You can email me, or reach me on via any of the social media links listed in the right-hand sidebar.

Thanks for reading, and looking forward to putting this challenge together!
